Melanie Thiesse has spent the last twenty-five years dedicated to the field of education. She has taught at all levels from kindergarten to ninth grade and has experience as a teacher educator, level director, curriculum coordinator, and conference workshop presenter. Now as the Director of Membership & School Accreditation for the American Montessori Society, she is dedicated to helping schools through the process of continuous improvement and seeing that Montessori school accreditation is valued internationally.
Melanie also volunteers much of her time to educational efforts. She sits on several boards including the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional Board of Education in New Jersey and on accreditation and private school boards and commissions in multiple states. She has also served as the New Jersey representative for the Montessori Public Policy Initiative and has experience as a policy advocate.
