This helps to make sure you are listening and understanding what you are learning. Of course, distractions are everywhere - from mobile phones, to social media, to friends. Be aware of what or who is distracting you, and when you know you should be learning, try to avoid it. Don't sit next to your friends if you know you won't be paying attention that way and turning off your mobile phone will also help you to stay focused on the teacher.

  • Ask questions!

If you don't understand something in class or in the lesson, ask your friends or teacher. If you don't want to ask the question in front of the whole group, wait until the end of the lesson and go to the teacher. Teachers are there to help you learn and master the material. Talk to your teacher and ask for clarification or help if you need it before the exam.  And in the long run, initiative is a good point with teachers!

Make yourself a study schedule. When preparing it, look at your calendar and think about what you need to study, when and how much you need to study on each day in order to finish the material on time.
